Cathy has had a band over the years, called The Moment - which is made up of Cathy on vocals, Gary Fukushima on keyboards, Chuck Manning on tenor sax, Jeff Richman on guitar, and Brad Dutz on percussion (yup, no bass player!) It’s a wonderfully quirky group, playing modern jazz, improvisation, originals, standards, modern jazz compositions. We also made a live recording, The Moment - Live at The Blue Whale in 2013.

Every time we play, it’s the same fun relationship! The last gigs we did together were at Brad Dutz’ jazz series in Sunland, and we had a ball!

Well, here we are AGAIN! Looking forward to playing, altho we’ll have two replacements…Brad Rabuchin instead of Jeff Richman on guitar, and Chris Wabich on drums and percussion instead of Brad Dutz.

LiveAtZeroBPM was started during the Pandemic shutdown when all the venues for live music shut down.  Things were tough for so many in the music world, along with other areas like other arts and hospitality.  Things had changed.

But in another way, nothing changed: musicians still wanted to play and people still wanted to listen. So we thought: “Why not give it to them? A couple times a week, every week, in a safe and fun environment?”

Our original goal was to give musicians a place where they can jam out, make money, and connect with the fans who miss them.

Now that people are able to get out again we have decided to keep things going.  We are building a fan base from all over the world!  Our goal now is to get L.A.’s finest jazz musicians a venue as large as the world itself!
